Established by the Akbalık family in 1985, Özak Tekstil has become one of the largest apparel manufacturers in Türkiye thanks to the innovative and sustainable policies it has followed since its establishment in order to manufacture better products at all times. It manufactures denim and non-denim products for the world’s leading brands thanks to the consistently high-quality products and services that it offers to customers. Özak Tekstil exports up to 7.800.000 products per year and carries out manufacturing operations in its Istanbul, Malatya and Şanlıurfa factories, which have a total indoor area of 65.000 sq. meters, 3.000 employees, and the latest systems.

Milestones

1985

The foundations for Özak Tekstil were laid.

The Akbalık family started their manufacturing operations within “Özak Tekstil” in Vakıf Han in Bakırcılar, Mercan, in 1985. They sold their own-branded jeans in the domestic market at the time.
1991

Özak Tekstil exported products for the first time.

It launched export operations to the Eastern Bloc and North African countries.
1996

Özak Tekstil’s Esenler factory was put into operation.

1999

Özak Tekstil’s Bağcılar factory was put into operation.

2000

Exports to Europe began.

The company turned its attention entirely to Europe that year. Now, it exports to over 30 brands in 28 countries.
2001

Özak Tekstil’s Çatalca factory was built.

Another factory was built in Çatalca Free Zone to contribute to the company’s production activities and capacity.
2009

Özak Tekstil’s Malatya factory was built.

The Malatya factory serves all international brands with over 1.000 employees, a monthly production capacity of 180.000 units and an annual production capacity of 2.4 million units.
2010

The 34 Portall Project was completed in İkitelli, Istanbul.

Özak Tekstil’s administrative staff still serves at 34 Portall, the company’s headquarters.
2011

Özak Tekstil started its sustainable production operations.

The process that began with the first OCS certification was completed with the adoption of all sustainable production methods. Today, all the requirements for sustainable production are met, with emphasis on labor, water, energy and chemical use.
2013

Özak Tekstil’s Şanlıurfa factory was built.

It is a fully integrated factory with an indoor area of 23.000 sq. meters, a monthly production capacity of 280.000 units, an annual production capacity of 3.4 million units, and 1.250 employees.
2019

Digital transformation began at Özak Tekstil.

Steps were taken towards multi-dimensional digitalization in the fields of design, production, process management and quality.
